Getting There

There are direct flights to Accra from major US cities and across Europe. From most other countries, Accra is easily accessible with just one stop. Kotoka International Airport is modern and well-connected, and Ghana's e-Visa is available online before you travel.

Ghana is one of the most politically stable and safe countries in West Africa. Accra, while a large city, is generally very safe for international visitors, particularly in the areas near our clinic and hospital. Our team will brief you on practical safety tips and preferred neighborhoods to stay in. Many of our clients leave Ghana having genuinely loved the experience of being there.
Accra is warm and humid year-round, with temperatures typically between 24°C–32°C (75°F–90°F). There are two rainy seasons: April–June and September–November. We'll let you know what to expect based on the time of year you'll be visiting.
Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Ghana. Additional recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and malaria prophylaxis. Please consult your doctor or a travel medicine clinic at least 4–6 weeks before your trip. We'll provide a full health preparation checklist when you enroll.
Ghana's currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). US dollars and euros are widely accepted in hotels and larger establishments. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels and upscale restaurants. ATMs are readily available in Accra. We'll share practical money tips when you prepare for your trip.
Yes — English is Ghana's official language. All business, medical, and legal communication throughout your journey will be in English. This is one of Ghana's significant advantages for international intended parents from English-speaking countries.
